Really, there’s a warehouse. And this is it. No, there’s no fancy IBOL sign out front — this is the Army, after all. And yes, it is very tempting to go and alter the “not a dumping site” sign to say something funnier — but this is the Army, and that’s not OK to do.
So, what’s inside? About 100 bundles. Okay, maybe 120.
I think I have another ~150 that need to be moved over to the warehouse. But this is where they go!

Well done!!!! I’m sending a couple more badly bundled bundles tomorrow….

2 bundles coming your way today with garment sized pieces of fabric, plenty of yarn and notions, too. It’s amazing what one can pack in that box!

Say something more in your blog about how distribution is going to be done. Love you, MOM
September 8, 2009 at 2:35 pm |
I will. When I get it all figured out. First ~130 bundles went out locally, with two units from my area. But now I’m waiting for Thursday — I have an actual meeting to go to about all this.
September 8, 2009 at 2:14 pm |
Oh, dear, I hope this will not be too late. I just learned about the Bundles of Love and have fabric, zippers, buttons etc. that I can donate. Please send me the address and any info I might need so I can send you about 4 bundles. I have a large stash and know I can donate that much.
Thank you,
Patricia Clements

Wow! You hit 500 bundles! Remember when you could hardly say that in your out loud voice! All the rest will be gravy! Actually, I think the rest will be an avalanche. Or a sandstorm. Or tsunami. Can’t wait to see.
thanks for allowing us all to help.

What do I do about the required recipient phone number on the customs form?!
I was trying to fill it out online but I’m stuck. Otherwise, I’m all boxed up and ready to go! =)
September 9, 2009 at 1:48 am |
I just left the phone number blank and my post office took the boxes
September 9, 2009 at 4:50 am |
I used my own. The post office didn’t care; guess we’ll see if they get through customs.
September 8, 2009 at 9:13 pm |
I’d like to add my thanks to you for having such a brilliant Super Secret Project and for letting us all help you and the Iraqi people. A box is on its way from Springfield, Oregon. The local POs have been out of the APO flat rate boxes for almost two weeks — eek!
September 8, 2009 at 9:27 pm |
I’m ready to go to the P.O. to just make the deadline. Hope to hear what the address is in time. Thanks for hosting this whole thing, really excited and proud to participate!
September 8, 2009 at 9:55 pm |
Help! I’ve two IBOLs ready to mail by the deadline and cannot find the APO address (it’s lost under my clutter of fabric & thread, I’m sure.
Please send address as soon as you can — and I’ll travel West until I find a post office still open to get these two IBOLs speedily on their way to you ….
many thanks, Cathy in Texas
September 8, 2009 at 10:30 pm |
I really was thankful that I could be part of this. Maybe someone else will pick up where you left off???
Thanks for all of your work and commitment.
September 8, 2009 at 10:53 pm |
Am I crazy or is it someone else? I can’t find any pictures from Sundae Sunday.
September 8, 2009 at 11:20 pm |
made the deadline and I just posted 6 bundles and pack so much, I wonder…have any of the bundles exploded?
It would be so nice if someone took over now that you are on you way back home. Thanks so much for this opportunity.
September 9, 2009 at 12:07 am |
“not a dumping site” followed by “but this is the Army”… oh you don’t know how badly the squid in me could have some fun with that!
Kidding aside, I love seeing IBOL bloom and bloom and bloom!!!!
September 9, 2009 at 1:46 am |
IBOL Guy, I see the count has jumped another 51 bundles. But I don’t see any other osting today. I hope you haven’t been buried by all the packages of LOVE. I’m thinking this is only the tip of the iceberg. Expect the counts to increase exponentially each day. This is great!
September 9, 2009 at 2:22 am |
IBOL Guy – only just come across your site yesterday – what a fantastic idea. Has anybody taken over the hot seat or is this going to fizzle now that you will be returning home. Did a bit of advertising (via word of mouth in our shop) for you here in Tenterfield NSW AUSTRALIA – now have a couple of customers interested!! What to do? Let me know if we can still come on board – Tenterfield has a large Quilting/crafts etc community – never know what might happen!
September 9, 2009 at 12:15 pm |
I just read this on Sept 9, 2009! I am so disappointed. I have lots of stuff to share. Please let me know if there is a follow on opportunity.
September 9, 2009 at 12:38 pm |
I would love to participate but I would understand if I were too late.
September 9, 2009 at 1:42 pm |
I’m confused. Is it closed or can I still sneak a couple of bundles in? Where should I send them?
September 9, 2009 at 1:59 pm |
I’ve read number of boxes in comments but where is the total number listed? Can’t wait to find out the final number. Great work and fabulous response from all the donors.
September 9, 2009 at 3:29 pm |
I have become an IBOL addict – and I have only know about it since Karey Bresenhan put the word out a week ago. In the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT I am re-reading all the notes on every page. This is LOVE in action. How fabulous that this great idea has taken hold and has grown to huge proportions. Thank you for all the work – for all the email replies – for all the concern and care. I am neglecting my chores while I wait with baited breath for the next update. GOD BLESS EVERY ONE OF YOU in this project.
September 9, 2009 at 5:13 pm |
Package mailed. New post about it today on our blog, complete with kitteh photo! Thanks, thanks, thanks!
September 9, 2009 at 6:02 pm |
Got my bundle mailed out on Saturday, stuffed as full as the limits of the cardboard would allow. I can’t wait to find out what the final count will be.
Thanks for coordinating this project and giving us the opportunity to do contribute something from our abundance. You’re my hero, IBOL Guy.
September 9, 2009 at 6:23 pm |
IBOL Guy……I missed the due date, but if this continues I want to send a bundle. I will watch here for details on if this project will be continuing.
You are awesome!!!!!
Rhonda

September 9, 2009 at 10:00 pm |
Oh, no, today is Sept. 9, and I didn’t find out about this until today. If someone takes this up, and IBOL is continued, will you be letting people know? I have lots of yarn that could be bundled up.
Genia

We found out late and would like to know if there will be another round? If possible, send address and we will send MORE. You should have known that sewers are the most generous people…thanks for the great work you are doing. Wish we could help pass them out!

OMG!! Again and again…. Congratulations on such a successful project. We are just glad to have participated in some small way. Keep us posted, and we’ll try the sundae topping soon. (Received this a little late for the original date, but what the heck??)
Love and hugs, Carol and family
